Queen Creek planning on developing master-planned community
  Queen Creek planning one of largest master-planned communities is a good sign of housing recovery.  A new development called Church Farm would border Meridian and Signal Butte Roads to the east and west, and Ocotillo Road and the Queen Creek Wash to the north and south.  This project would include about 900 acres, and the plans call for 1,750 homes to be built.  If the project is approved by the Town of Queen Creek, it would be one of the largest projects in the town's history.  The builder, William Lyon Homes, could start pulling permits by the end of 2010.
Arizona housing analyst R.L. Brown said that this is the first time that he has heard of such a large project moving forward in quite a while.  He also said, "The whole Southeast Valley appears to be recovering ahead of other parts of the Valley."  This is definately a long term project, and it will probably be years before that much real estate is developed and sold.  Arizona still has lots of room to grow and develop, and I think in the years to come, it will still be a destination for people because of the weather and opportunities for growth.  Queen ... more
