Realtor vs real estate agent
This blog is directed to Jon at ActiveRain and the Realtor members at ActiveRain.
  All Realtors are real estate agents but all real estate agents are not Realtors.  You need to have a category called Realtor.  The little R means big things.  I understand you have a problem with trying to police the issue.  Let us do that.  We are doing that right now.  Realtors who are non-Realtors still advertising as a Realtor.  Our local boards will follow up. I have been active in my board.  Board president, 25 years on Professional Standards, Chairman of MLS-PIN, etc.  We have a Code of Ethics second to no one.
If you are to reach the million plus Realtors then give them another reason to become a member of ActiveRain.  It will only add more credibility.  I talked to a number of Realtors at the Boston RainCamp and they feel strongly about this issue.  I believe this is an issue that needs to be discussed and reviewed by you and the other decision making members of ActiveRain. Millions and millions of dollars have been spent branding the Realtor image.  It is so important that the public know the difference between agents and Realtors.
