September 11th 10 year Anniversary
 

I can hardly believe that the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is here, the Pearl Harbor of my generation, only much more devastating.  FDR said of Pearl Harbor “a date that would live in infamy” but little could he imagine the vicious attack 70 years later.
 
I will never forget where I was as I watched the towers fall one after another. I didn’t know it at the time but one of my friends and his fiancé both lost their lives. I watched helplessly as the reports came in on Flight 93, the Pentagon and the first responders - So much to process. We closed up shop and as I headed home to my family, I remember how eerily quiet it was with the exception of fighter jets patrolling the skies.  I also remember stories of amazing acts of heroism, stories of people coming together in the face of overwhelming adversity.
 
On this anniversary of 9/11, I remember my friend and his fiancé, I honor all those that lost their lives and I keep the families and friends of all those that lost their lives in my prayers.
