So there it is folks, one man's junk is another man's treasure!
This post was inspired by my good friend Kristine Ginsberg's comment on a post I wrote earlier today.  She commented that when she was in her 20's and got her first apartment, that she purchased things from flea markets and garage sales and was very proud of them.  I did the same thing when I lived in NYC, and to this day, I use many of those purchases.  Some of them are pictured here.  They may need a little touch up and work, but they were great finds, fun pieces and constant reminders that you don't always have to have the BEST!
The bowed front buffet was free!  It was left  by the previous tenant in an apartment I rented in Queens.  All I had to do was paint it black.  I think it's kind of cool.  The chairs (4 of them) were found on the curb.  Yes, a coat of black paint and a little fabric on the seats and they were good to go.  The chest of drawers above was purchased at a little antique shop after I moved back home from NYC.  Believe it or not, the woman that owned the antique shop turned out to be a cousin ... more
