A Transit of VenusShortly after 3:00 pm the planet Venus will makes it way on its orbit crossing the sun.  We on earth will be able to see the silhouette of Venus as it transit the Sun.  This is a rare celestial event which will occur next in 2117.  Chabot Space and Science Center will have live broadcasts from NASA and hands on demonstrations.  The program starts at 3:06 pm at the Chabot Space Center at 10000 Skyline Blvd., Oakland.  Chabot Space and Science Center will be open Tuesday, June 5 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm to watch the transit of Venus.Remember not to look directly at the sun.  NASA’s website has instruction on what to do to protect your eyes and still watch the transit of Venus.This is a once in a lifetime event, so don’t miss it.
