If You Think Moving is Difficult, Try it From a Pet's Perspective!
 
 
No one looks forward to moving, especially if it's halfway across the country. Imagine if you were your pet! Think how they must be feeling when the moving van arrives at their front door, and all the things they're familiar with are carried off. They're probably not feeling very comfortable at that point.
Here are some steps for you, (you can quit imagining you're the pet now), to take to make a move more pleasant for your pet:
1. On the day of the move, be sure your pets are in a safe location. One thing you definitely don't want to happen is to discover your pet is missing and have to leave without him or her. If you have a friend or relative close-by who can pet sit, take them there before the movers arrive. You might also choose to board them at their favorite kennel for the day. If you have a fenced-in area where you're sure the movers won't be going, put them there. If all else fails, put them in a closed room away from the hustle and bustle of the movers.
