How to Keep Lake Havasu City Kids Busy After School
The new school year officially got underway this week in Havasu.  That keeps them busy during the day.  But, how do you keep Lake Havasu City kids busy after school?  Never fear!  All Lake Havasu elementary schools provide after school programs that are sponsored by the Lake Havasu City Aquatics and Recreation Department.
Beginning next Monday, August 13, 2012, each Havasu elementary school will provide supervised activities as well as homework help for those students enrolled in the After School program.  There is no transportation involved because the program takes place at the school itself.  From 2:30pm to 6pm, kids in Kindergarten through sixth grade will participate in healthy activities to keep their minds sharp and bodies well.  On days when school lets out early, the program runs from 1pm to 5:30pm.
Parents can pay for either a five week session ($125 per child and $75 for each additional child in the household) or a four week session ($100 per child and $60 for each additional child in the household).  For families who need it, there is financial assistance available.  Registration is currently underway at the Aquatic Center.  While this particular program is great for the younger kids, the Lake Havasu ... more
