Mayor Tom Reid 
 
Pearland has an amazing Mayor who, with every action, has Pearland at his focus. That's why today we are spotlighting this great public servant.

Mayor Tom Reid is a native Texan, born in Houston, and acquired his conservative philosophy growing up in Central Texas.
 
Mayor Reid has a history of public service in Pearland starting in 1965, which includes Scout Troop Committee Chairman, City Planning Commissioner, City Councilman, Mayor, and Chairman of Brazoria Drainage District #4. 
 
Mayor Reid served in Naval Aviation before graduating from the University of Texas-Austin.  His professional career included Technical Writing and Design Engineering before joining Rockwell at Johnson Space Center in 1965.  He worked on every manned flight starting with Gemini II through Apollo, Apollo-Soyuz, Skylab, and the Space Shuttle Program spending the last ten years in the Shuttle Program Office.
 
Mayor Reid is an Ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church, an Eagle Scout, and a 32 Degree Mason and Shriner.
