Many of us have used independent contractors in 2012; you may need to file a Form 1099-MISC. I’m not an accountant so just think of this as a reminder to consult your tax adviser.   J
If you paid an independent contractor $600.00 or more in the Tax Year 2012, the deadline for providing a 1099-MISC form is January 31, 2013. You must also file a form with the IRS.
