Growing Coleus Plants
 
What I love about living in warmer climate is planting different types of plants and flowers in my Texas garden. Trying new plants is fun! This year, I decided to plant a Coleus plant and here is the result of my efforts!
 
 
What attracts me to this plant are the leaves. You don't grow Coleus for flowers, you grow it for its leaves and they come in a variety of different shapes, colors, and sizes. There is a lot of information on the Internet, books, and magazines about the Coleus plant. What I like are the descriptive words that sound so tantalizing! Those descriptive words include:
 
Eye Dazzlers! Easy Going! Distinctly on the Wild Side! Creative! Sophisticated! Show Stoppers! Artistically Edged! Splashed with Colors!  
Coleus comes in various shades of green, pink, yellow, purple, intense red, and chartreuse. They love the sun and they thrive well in the heat or better known as the "Heart of Texas! If you feel your garden needs a jolt of color with something that requires low maintenance and grows well with other plants, I suggest trying Coleus!
