Our Generation Our Choice – how germane that phrase seems to me today as wildfires continue to burn in our area.
Not long ago I read an article focused on the energetic student presence in establishing and building a sustainability legacy at UNC Asheville.I thought about that today as my four-footed furry friend and I walked the NC Asheville campus where sustainability awareness was surely expressing itself – a LEED Gold Certified building, seven other buildings heated and cooled by ground-thermal wells beneath the campus quad, and a 112-panel solar array on the roof of the Wilma M Sherrill Center – all in evidence. And there was this sign – possibly a" sign" of the incredible momentum of life in the forests, and things to come: OUR GENERATION OUR CHOICE."
