Miscellaneous Fees
I am a straight forward person. I pay my bills as soon as I receive them and I like to be billed promptly. I have found lately many service providers are adding "miscellaneous fees" onto their bills. When I inquire about these charges I am advised that they are for "rags and such". Excuse me? Isn't that the cost of doing business? Two weeks ago the local garage charged $12.00 for this, and my oil and propane provider does this as well for servicing my boiler. I am taken back and appalled by this. If your rates aren't sufficient to cover your supplies, then raise your rates but please don't nickel and dime me for your cost of providing service. I get annoyed by folks who don't disclose and then add surprise charges. Rant over.
