The award-winning Hands on Children’s Museum in Olympia, WA is raising money for a new facility.  Founded in 1987, the museum is known for its interactive exhibits for children that encourage learning, creativity and curiosity.  They have outgrown their current location near the Capitol campus and are building a new larger facility on East Bay at the waterfront.
One of the museum’s fundraisers is to sell fish-shaped name plaques that will be displayed in the new building.

In January – April of this year, there were 24 single family home sales in DuPont.  This is down from this same time last year where there were 42 homes sales.  In 2010, there were also 42 homes sales during this same time period. 
 
DuPont is starting off very slow in home sales for 2012.  The number of single family homes for sale has remained steady – 17 homes for sale in May and that number is the same for last month.  But these are not the same 17 homes.  Some … (1 comments)

The Indian Summer Golf & Country Club neighborhood in Olympia, WA has seen three home sales this year.  Typically Indian Summer averages about 20-24 homes sales per year so we are off to a sluggish home selling season but it’s not because there is no inventory.  There are plenty of homes to choose from!

Mid-April 2012 Real Estate Market Update for Olympia, WA
Along with the spring flowers, the South Sound real estate market is also perking up.  Here are three strong trends we are seeing this first part of 2012.
1. Pending sales are at multi-year highsThrough the first quarter, pending home sales are up a robust 12.4% since last year.  In 2010, pending sales were up due to the federal tax credit incentives to first-time home buyers.  We track pending sales to see that there are buyers out there, and sellers are accepting their offers.

Olympia Wooden Boat Fair at Percival Landing - 05/13/12 06:58 PM
The annual Olympia Wooden Boat Fair at Percival Landing on Olympia’s waterfront is fun for both sea-farers and land-lubbers alike.  This free event showcases all kinds, shapes and sizes of wooden boats from sailboats to canoes. 
 
Other attractions are arts and crafts booths.  Grab a bite from one of the many food carts and sit and relax by the water while listening to local musical groups.
