remax select realty: Hampton Township, PA Ranked #2 Best Town For Families - 07/17/10 10:44 AM
Located north of Pittsburgh, the bedroom community of Hampton Township was recently voted the Number 2 Best Town in the Country for Families by Family Circle Magazine. Of course, since I grew up there it doesn't surprise me at all! Hampton has always had a wonderful community atmosphere, a great school district (A perfect 10 ranking from greatschools.com) and beautiful homes to choose from. It is a great cross between those that want convenience to activities, shopping and the city, but still be in a family-friendly semi-rural community. You can read the entire story online at Family Circle Magazine. Buying a

remax select realty: What's Your Commute Really Costing You - 03/25/10 09:00 AM
There is a great story this morning in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette talking about the real cost of commuting. It's a cost that is often overlooked but can significantly effect both your pocketbook and your sanity. According to the story if you look at just housing costs 72 percent of neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area would be considered affordable to those making the median income. But when transportation expenses are factored in, the number drops to 32 percent! If you are in the market for a new home consider your commute as part of the cost. I have the

remax select realty: Existing Home Sales Fall, But Prices Rise - 01/29/10 02:37 PM
Existing-home sales fell as expected in December after first-time buyers rushed to complete deals during the months leading up to the original November deadline for the tax credit. Here is to Starting the New Year Off Right! Pittsburgh is one of the 5 markets expected to fare best in 2010 according to Moodys.
