Now seriously,.... - 03/31/09 12:53 PM
I know that I have blogged about this before, but it's worth repeating.
If you send me an email and I don't respond... chances are I didn't get it!
On Friday I received an email from an agent in the area with an attached purchase agreement. I haven't responded to him yet because I JUST realized that he emailed it over. This agent never showed the home, he didn't call me to tell me that he had an interested client, and certainly didn't let me know that there was a purchase agreement coming in!
I wonder if he would ever call … (10 comments)

One property, 72 hours and 10 purchase agreements... - 03/26/09 05:35 PM
I realize that we are in a really good buyer's market. It's a GREAT time for buyer's to buy. There are lots and lots of incentives for first time homebuyers that make this market especially intriguing.
That being said... I put a house on the market on Monday that I've been watching for a few months now. This house is in a neighborhood that has LOTS of homes for sale (like 22) and most of them foreclosures. It is located in a place that has been kinda slow on the sale side (like everywhere) so I have been pleasantly surprised to … (4 comments)

It's that kind of day. - 03/25/09 08:41 AM
It's that kind of day in Minnesota.
We've had a tease of warm weather, but this weekend is the high school boy's basketball tournament and it seems that it always snows. It won't be much, but any snow at this point is almost disappointing!
It will only stay but a week at most, but it is here. Those small white flakes decorating my front lawn this morning as I sit warmly writing this note inside my house.
Likely with the cool weather it will be a soup and homemade bread day. You can resist? It just warms you up from the … (2 comments)

Go green with a laundry line. - 03/23/09 03:47 PM
With summer right around the corner I thought I'd throw out an easy way to save some money and "go green" at the same time!
I myself am getting ready to hang my laundry line for the summer. I picked up some clothesline poles last summer and it's time to utilize my tool!
By simply hanging a thin rope from a pole to a tree I've been able to hang out my laundry over the last few years, but I'm ready for something more permanent.
A few hints that I've learned along the way...
* It's easier to hang the clothes … (11 comments)

Am I a Pig?!?!... - 03/23/09 03:36 PM
Yesterday was truly enjoyable in Elk River, MN with weather warming to the 50's and the sun shining! Not only was it pretty, but it was a GREAT day to be outside. The early spring days are always like that for me.... I get the itches to enjoy the fresh air as much as I can.
It was tooooo windy for flying kites so I challenged my brother to a game of P-I-G. I haven't picked up a basketball in probably 10 years so I knew that my game would be hilarious at best. I practiced shooting hoops for awhile before … (6 comments)

Spring is in - with a fling! - 03/20/09 05:44 PM
It's time to celebrate the coming of a new season.
Winter is officially gone and the glum glums have no reason to stay settled in our homes. The sun is warming us up a little more each day and the anticipation of summer grows more and more all the time!
I wasn't the only person today that threw off my winter coat to trudge through the chilly 45 degree weather. Why do we do it?Because it just feels right! It's a great feeling to know that warm green grass is around the corner and getting closer all the time.
This morning I woke up … (4 comments)

Get up and run!... - 03/19/09 04:35 PM
On Saturday, May 2nd I am signed up and ready to make good on the promise that I made to Mr. Dan the running man!
Okay, so it's only a two-mile run, but it's getting close! My 5k race will be coming soon after!
I didn't get to train while I was in Ghana so I started upon my return and it's going great! I might look like a turtle going backwards when you watch me, but it's worth the effort.
Here it is: Maranatha - Arise and Run for the Prize
I realized while I was away that I have … (7 comments)

What would YOUR neighbors say? - 03/19/09 04:21 PM
This thought is probably coming from my recent visit to Ghana, but let's just see where it takes me!
I was out for my jog this morning (which is truly something to see!) and thinking about my neighbors inside their houses peering out and spying on me. I was wondering, "What do they think of me?" Questioning whether my slow snailsh jogging pace would be their conversation at the dinner table tonight really had my mind running.
We live on five acres in outer Elk River so it's not like our neighbors sit right on top of us. Unless hubby and … (7 comments)

There's nothing like a vacation!... - 03/14/09 01:55 PM
We had such a great visit with my hubby's family in Ghana, but I've honestly never sat so idle in my life! Hubby did most of our cooking and cleaning was taken out of my hands so I had a month of visiting, and playing and planning. I can't tell you how much planning went on inside my head.
Ghana is a great place, but we didn't have easy access to the internet or phones (that were inexpensive) so working from there was really a non-option.
I had a chance to learn a little about there real estate though. Like the fact that an acre of open land … (3 comments)
