Just when you think you have heard enough or that others have learn their lesson, two individuals were convicted in Orange County on Thursday by a jury for mortgage fraud. This was not a case that affected Orlando alone. It is reported that it stretch from South Florida to Orlando. The two convicts, were reported to have falsified documents to obtain mortgage loans on properties in Broward, Palm Beach and Orange Counties. They were arrested by FDLA officials back in March of 2005. They were said to be creating false W-2, bank statements as well as other documentations. … (1 comments)

The state of Florida ranked first in mortgage fraud in 2006 in a national index released earlier this year by the Mortgage Asset Research Institute, an industry data clearinghouse. The most recent scheme - which has been under investigation since 2002, netted over $12 million, 30 homes and countless victims throughout the United States. The ring leader, Yvette Scott Patterson, 40, formerly of Lauderhill, is accused of masterminding this scheme to submit fraudulent loan applications by using the false information through her mortgage company, Khadmilroy Inc.
