No, it’s not the kind of petting zoo you’re thinking about, where kids get to mingle with, and pet, all sorts of cute animals.

Come celebrate Make Music Day on June 21 at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad. It’s also the 1st day of summer, of course!
Fête de la Musique, as it is called in France where it originated in 1982, is now celebrated in more than 1000 cities in 120 countries on June 21. The original vision of the founders was a day of music for everyone to enjoy, whether they make the music or just listen, everywhere in each city.

Anyone with an interest in music will likely love visiting the Carlsbad Museum of Making Music (MoMM). As one would expect in any museum, the history of music shines through a large collection of instruments, recordings, photos, and so much more.
The Museum of Making Music is NOT a place to rush, but to take time and experience it! You can easily spend an hour or two seeing everything the Museum offers, with a bunch of hands-on and interactive displays.

Musical Innovation in Carlsbad at the Museum of Making Music
The Museum of Making Music is a real gem in our community, with an amazing collection, much of it interactive, that takes hours to fully appreciate and enjoy, as well as numerous concerts and educational offerings throughout the year.
The current exhibit, “A Summer of Innovation” running through August 2017, is all about innovation in the music industry, and is completely interactive.
And it would be a pretty cool way to learn about all the different ways music can and is being created these days in non-traditional ways, using technology.

Carlsbad’s Museum of Making Music is a real gem for anyone who enjoys music. Not only is the Museum a real treat, with an amazing collection of instruments, interactive exhibits and historic memorabilia, but there is an outstanding repertoire of live musical events throughout the year featuring top area, regional, national and international performers (Chico Pinheiro from Brazil was amazing), a wide range of instruments, and eclectic musical styles.
And the prices for these stellar concerts can't be beat, normally $15 - $25!!

ANYONE with an interest, even marginally, in music will appreciate this treasure trove of instruments, music, memorabilia and so much more.
As a member I enjoy being able to visit the Museum of Making Music, and to attend special events, like their Annual International Guitar Festival.

The Carlsbad Museum of Making Music is an amazing walk through the history of music, with a huge collection of musical instruments, musical scores, photos, recordings, and so much more in multiple rooms.
The Museum of Making Music sponsors numerous musical events throughout the year, which included live performances as well as films and special exhibitions. There is also a special music camp during the summer.
