retirement: Samarkand, Santa Barbara, Rich in History

My area of specialty in Santa Barbara is the Samarkand Neighborhood, rich in history and a wonderful place to live. Samarkand means "Land of Heart's Desire" in Persian and we are lucky to have The Samarkand of Santa Barbara as part of our diverse neighborhood. The following article was written by John Hall, who works for The Samarkand of Santa Barbara. The Samarkand of Santa Barbara began as a boys’ school in 1916.
