Ask yourself:

How long am I planning to stay?  Is that long enough to make it worth the cost of buying, and then later the cost of selling?

Or do I want to buy a house to rent out?  Or to fix and sell at an increased value?

How much monthly payment am I comfortable with? 

A great agent will meet with you early in the home finding process, to help you figure out what your goals are, and will know how to guide you through the process to help you achieve them!
