Missing A Chromosome Or Two - 04/19/11 11:29 AM
Another one? Come on. If a bunch of your colleagues have been getting in trouble for goofing off on the job, you would want to clean up your own act. The FAA had to suspend (a bit too soft in my opinion) yet another air traffic idiot over the weekend. This clown was watching a DVD while working. Even funnier ( if you want to call it that) was he accidentally left the mic in the transmit position so that all of the pilots in the area could hear the movie, but none of them could transmit to the tower. Obviously

That Should Help - Not - 04/19/11 11:14 AM
A little economic lesson is in store for GM and its backer: our government. So this is where our tax dollars went. Can't sell a product, ask more for it. Maybe I will start to run my biz that way in the future. Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC): GM, who is having trouble selling cars now and is getting absolutely no help from their Volt dud, announced that 2 weeks from today it will raise prices across the board on its vehicles by an aveage of $123 - for higher

Up, Up, and Away! - 04/19/11 11:12 AM
The big talk these days is when, not if, the price of gas will hit $5 per gallon. Take a quick look at the financial report this morning and you will see that the big 5 is probably not that far off.Yikes. Next to the price of gas going up, the next biggest type of commodity that could cost all of us way too much money is food. And the price of food is going the same direction as the price of gas. Nowhere but up. At the rate that both food and gas are increasing in value, or perceived value

Farm Guy Here - 04/18/11 08:17 AM
Have you seen the ads that proclaim "I will buy your house"? You have I am sure. I am not going to put up the ugly yellow signs or have some 800 number for you to call. No nightly infomercials. Just dumb old me looking to buy some farmland and do something crazy with it. Develop it into...a farm. Preposterous huh? There is a new style of farming out there, and I found out about it a few months ago. It allows a farmer to make a decent living and keep the property in good shape, both financially and ecologically. The

Why Do They Stay Here? - 04/18/11 08:08 AM
Have you seen the latest videos that were taken at a Tea Party rally in Portland? Kinda unbelievable and at the same time, I want to say, nothing new here. Basically a bunch of lefties that showed up just to cause trouble, are yelling at the protesters. A few racist slurs come out of the mouths of the tolerant lefties and a whole lot of denigration of our flag and country. Here is a link to the videos: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/leftist-protesters-boo-during-national-anthem-at-madison-tea-party-rally/ I caution you, it will make you sick of you are a normal person. Housing Tax Credit Was Expensive - 04/18/11 07:43 AM
The first time buyers credit might have helped sell a few homes in a down period, But, did it really help the economy in the long run, and did it really help those it was intended to help? Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC): You can argue about the effectiveness of the $8,000 tax credit last year and whether it actually helped you sell homes. The point is that the IRS discloses now that the program cost all of us over one-half billion dollars in fraud. Why the IRS honored the fraudulent claims and

THE NEW ERA OF THE FEMININE FEMINIST - 04/18/11 07:41 AM
My wife and I have discussed this ideal many times. In his blog, William asks what the clowns are thinking. While I used to respect those in DC, I now truly believe that the word clown is much too nice for these idiots. Can we get rid of all of them please? Via William Feela Realtor 651-674-5999 No. Branch,MN (WHISPERING PINES REALTY): Today, Obama laid out a plan to cut 4 trillion Dollars from the deficit in 12 years. Something Is Weird - 04/16/11 10:39 AM
Did you read the story about the 20 year old nursing student that was abducted? She was taken out of her house by a man wearing camouflage, who then took her into the woods. Her brother watched the whole thing unfold, if I am reading the article correctly, and then went outside to check on things. By that time she was gone. He found blood on the ground. What is weird to me is that the brother took so long to act. I am not accusing him, just wondering why he would wait. Weird to me. I hope they find her

Term Limits Takes First Step - 04/16/11 10:21 AM
This blog by Steve starts to make the case for term limits. I do not agree with term limits, but I do think it is great food for thought. Take a read. Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC): For those maintaining that we should have term limits in Congress, a Constitutional Amendment has been proposed in the Senate. And They Want A Raise - 04/13/11 09:03 AM
More to the point: And we let them teach our kids? The California Teachers Federation, oh, excuse me, the California Federation of Teachers, has come out in favor of a cop killer. Huh? Why? They feel that the cop killer, even though every single appeals court has upheld his guilt, did not get a proper trial. They also feel that he is a civil rights hero. FYI- His name is Mumia Abu-Jamal. Who cares. Back to my point. Why is a teachers union or federation in CA, whatever, even giving a sh*t about a guy from PA, who killed a cop?

Which Cup Is It Under? - 04/13/11 08:52 AM
Some analysts are saying that the supposed budget deal only cut around 15 billion dollars. They are arguing that it was more of a sham than an actual cut. If that is the case, and we will slowly find out over the next few weeks, then I suggest that Mr. Boehner is not the right guy for the job. He would probably be great to have speak at a party, and he can most likely do a hell of a campaign trail, but what we sent all of these so-called conservatives up there to do was... CUT SPENDING!!! My Kid Would Be A Felon - 04/12/11 10:50 AM
In Chicago public schools, principals are given the authority to ban kids from bringing their lunches from home. While only a few administrators have actually banned the practice, just the fact that they have the power to decide is pretty scary. Obviously these educators know best. We, as parents, have no clue how best to raise our kids. Luckily for us they will take over and do the job. Maybe we should just give our kids to the state and let them take care of business for us. What is next, a ban on Happy Meals or or trans fat? Wait.

Who did It? - 04/07/11 11:07 AM
When the LA Lakers won the title last year, some of their fans rioted, looting and burning shops and cars. People were badly hurt. The LA Lakers should not have won. They knew their fans would riot. The players should be held accountable for winning. When the G-7 leaders held a summit in Seattle a few years back, anarchists threw rocks at police, mugged old ladies, and beat up many people. The G-7 leaders should be put on public trial. If I shoot my neighbor, who is responsible? The gunmaker, the bullet maker, or me? If I drive drunk, who

I Am A Racist When It Comes To Beef - 04/06/11 10:46 AM

We always buy a side of beef from a friend who happens to grow organic beef for his living. Good stuff. The problem last Saturday was that we were out of ground beef and that is what I needed for the recipe. Sure I could grind up another cut but figured a quick trip to the store would be faster and easier.

Don't Be Fooled By The Unemployment Numbers - 04/05/11 09:30 AM

Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC): The unemployment numbers are meaningless. Supposedly they are declining. Don't believe it. They can publish any number they want. They can say we have 5% unemployment - wouldn't make it so. In many markets, such as South Florida, the unemployment is still somewhere between 16-20%.
