Just When I though I Had Seen It All...... - 11/26/08 12:34 PM
Local agent Madison Hildebrand shows his "Real Estate" on the cover of PlayGirl. I guess any and all forms of self promotion have a place in todays media driven market place. Do you think this will hurt or benefit his career? There is plenty of debate in Malibu about this! A majority of agents think it was a bad idea for real estate but great for other work in television! Impressive Price Reduction on a Point Dume Craftsman Home - 11/26/08 12:24 PM
It's not often that I see an amazing Point Dume home for sale with an equally impressive price reduction. The home at 6815 Dume Drive was originally listed at $6,550,000 and last week saw a $1,555,000 reduction! It is now listed at $4,995,000. I have to commend the seller and agent for getting aggressive with the price, the smartest move in today's rapidly changing market place. The 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath home is one of the best examples of the craftsman style in all of Malibu and sits on 2.75 acres. Beach rights are included and Point Dume Marine Science is (0 comments)

Another Big Pocket Listing In Malibu - 11/26/08 12:17 PM
I was out on caravan yesterday and noticed that an agent was advertising a $100,000 per month lease but NOT on the beach! Intrigued, I headed up Latigo to go investigate and was immediately wowed by the shear size of the home that unveiled itself as I drove in through the main gates. Sitting a few miles off PCH on a nearly 10 acre parcel is this amazing 14,000 sq.ft. Italian Villa with whitewater views of Point Dume, Santa Monica Bay, Palos Verdes, and beyond. The home would be ideal for a reclusive celebrity, an international polo star, or anyone bored (0 comments)
My Caravan Food Article In The Los Angeles Times! - 11/26/08 12:16 PM
I can't take credit for writing the article but I did come up with the story and pitched it to Ann Brenoff who did a great job describing the caravan food scene around Los Angeles. I originally had the idea to rate caravan food and have it as a regular blog article. If an agent consistently served great food at the caravans then I wanted to make sure the blogosphere knew about it. If they only served M and M's than maybe the public shame would encourage them to up the ante to something better and more expensive, like, Nilla Waffers, (0 comments)
Polaroid Beach House Up For Sale at $32,000,000 - 11/26/08 12:15 PM
The beach house that once leased it's soul to a company trying to figure out how to be cool as the digital age wiped out it's film business, is now up for sale. Several years ago the house had been host to numerous parties that irked the neighbors, attracted flocks of paps, and even had the local city council trying to find ways to shut down corporate party homes in Malibu. The Polaroid Co. would later lease a few other beach houses in Malibu to host their parties and this house has since had a new owner who did not lease (0 comments)

The Malibu Lightning Storm of the Century - 11/26/08 12:13 PM
Early in the week you could tell something different was in the air. It was hot and humid, and the cool northwesterlies were absent from the shores of Zuma. By Wednesday there were rumors of rain but the skies above Malibu were free from the tell tale cumulus nimbus clouds. Late Wednesday some unusual clouds started coming up from the south. I ran down to the beach and shot a few sunset pics. Still no rain. Around 11 pm I started to hear some thunder and a few minutes later saw some faint blasts of lightning. Over the next few hours (0 comments)
What You Need To Know About Home Insurance In Malibu - 11/26/08 12:12 PM
<!--StartFragment--> Luxury Home Insurance Just as elite and expensive cars require special insurance, so too do the luxury homes of Malibu. From an insurer's point of view, however, a house isn't a luxury home just because it came with a high price or an enormous amount of square footage. Instead, a luxury home must have one or more of the following features: fine architectural detailing or uncommon construction details, high-quality construction, significant age, and contents that include fine art, collectibles or antiques. If your home meets this description, you should be shopping for a luxury home policy. While all luxury home (0 comments)
Seen In Malibu At Villa Malibu - 11/26/08 12:11 PM
It looks like Villa Malibu is looking for some exciting new ways to market their property. They already have a strong presence in local print media, are ranked high on Google's search engine for "Malibu Real Estate", and throw boozie parties with killer food at least once a month for real estate agents to get the word out. But something was missing.....hum.... let me think.....oh yeah...girls in bikini's! These two ladies were hired to sunbathe on lounge chairs on PCH and to pass out flyers about rentals at Villa Malibu. In the 5 minutes I was there several people pulled up (0 comments)
