Recently I wrote a contract on a Short Sale. - 07/26/12 10:36 AM
Recently I wrote a contract on a Short Sale.  Questions were asked why an owner would do a Short sale.  Well this is the answers that I gave to them.  People often find in today’s economy that they cannot keep up with mortgage payments for a variety of reasons.  Their home in today’s market may be worth a lower amount then their mortgage amount so they still need to get out from under their home mortgage.  The bank agrees to take less for the home then is owed on it creating a Short Sale.  So why a Short Sale vs Foreclosure, … (0 comments)

Frontier Ice Arena is getting closer to opening!  Expect to see ice this week or at least by next week.  They are expecting to open here in mid August.  The county has been there inspecting the facility in advance of issuing a “Certificate of Occupancy”.  The landscaping is coming along, you will see over 40 trees that are now planted and looking good.

The young skaters are over at the ice arena checking daily on the progress.  They can hardly wait to get their skates on and test this new ice rink.  The community is so ready for this facility … (0 comments)

A Small Step to Being Smarter…. - 07/18/12 11:40 AM
A Small Step to Being Smarter….

1.     It will make you smarter.
2.     It will make you more purposeful.
3.     It will make you more creative.
Are you intrigued by these three statements?  Are you learning based? Or are you ignorance based?  There are two broad options here for us to consider.  Ignorance based  is described by this statement  “I know what I know and I’ll ignore anything else.”  Learning based will have ”the mindset of a lifelong learner.”
The simple answer to being a lifelong learner is “Carry a Notebook.”  It invites you to take notes, to capture your … (3 comments)

I find this alarming. The device we love to hate! - 07/18/12 10:53 AM
I have thought this might be the case with alarm systems and I always have great anticipation when a home has an alarm system that I am showing.  How about going with a dog that lets you know when someone is outside yoour home (dog can be friendly) and alarm systems don't  usually notice people walking around your home.

Kootenai Urgent Care facility in Post Falls, Idaho at 1300 Mullan Ave. - 07/17/12 10:40 AM
Thursday July 19th you have an opportunity to tour and go behind the scenes to see just what goes on at Kootenai Urgent Care facility in Post Falls, Idaho at 1300 Mullan Ave.  Most of us don’t think about Urgent Care facilities until we are in desperate need of some kind of medical care and then we just try to find a facility that is open or run to the emergency room at the local hospital.  Urgent care facilities are usually much quicker in their treatment with less forms then the emergency room.  Please understand that I am not saying you … (0 comments)

4 Ways To De-Clutter And Organize Your Orange County Home - 07/17/12 10:17 AM
You do not have to live in Orange County to have a problem with clutter.  My own personal rule is if you haven't opened a box in 5 years, time to get rid of it.  Why do we keep so much?  I do not have an answer for this question but we do need to stay on top of this and periodically go through stuff and give away or throw away.

One of the keys to success with selling an Orange County home or condo is organizing. Potential … (2 comments)

Hot weather here on the prairie in Post Falls, Idaho - 07/16/12 12:56 PM
Well the extremely hot weather here on the prairie in Post Falls, Idaho has broken and now we are back to seasonal normals .  The only thing that really seems to like the extreme heat was the corn in the garden and it looks to have caught up to where it should be by now so I guess there is a silver lining in the clouds.
Summer is here and it feels good to sit on the patio in the evening watching the birds and the sunset.  Lately I have been able to see a few baby quail running around … (0 comments)

Hidden Features of the iPad and iPhone - 07/16/12 12:05 PM

KTEC our new technical being out in Rathdrum - 07/13/12 10:40 AM
What a marvelous experience I had yesterday.  I had a private tour of KTEC, our new technical school being built out in Rathdrum.  Mark Cotner was very gracious and showed us all the new buildings and talked about their purpose and how the students would be using the space as they are being taught skills that will enable them to support themselves and build careers.

KTEC has had so many applicants that a second shift has been added and they still are having to put students on a waiting list in most areas.

The Beauty of Friendships - 07/11/12 10:25 AM
Well once again I am reminded of the beauty of friendships. We were honored to have friends of many years ago stop last night for an overnight visit and what fun we had sharing about family, friends and of course how the families have changed with additions of grand children and just life in general.
It can never be said to often but take time to enjoy and stay in touch as friends enrich our lives in so many ways.  Stories to be remembered and shared with younger family members are always so much fun.
So from the prairie here … (0 comments)

Art on the Green” in Coeur d’Alene - 07/10/12 08:34 AM
My 14 year old dyslexic grandson always amazes me but I was particularly interested in his work methods as I observed how he left his project last evening. You see this young man is interested in buying a car very soon as he starts driver training this fall.  So he makes a game called “Finn Pin” and sells them at the local farmers' market to earn money.

He is looking for a bigger audience to sell to so this spring he put in an application for “Art on the Green” in Coeur d’Alene the first week end in August and … (3 comments)

Regarding Beck Rd Interchange in Post Falls Idaho - 07/03/12 09:49 AM
Regarding Beck Rd Interchange in Post Falls Idaho, things seem to be moving off to a slow start.  Everyone says that the project will be completed by Thanksgiving 2012.  I was hoping to have some good pictures to share by now, however all I can see at this time is dirt piles and they do not make for interesting pictures.  This will be an important interchange for the businesses out by Cabela’s and Walmart as consumers going to these businesses have to go down the Interstate a ways to the Pleasentville exit and double back to get to them.

Well the big birthday weekend is over and from all accounts it was a huge success.  Everyone made the 15 mile ride with only a few sore muscles and lots of pictures.  The day was overcast but a perfect temperature.  The mountain air was so fragrant that you felt like you were in a different world.

I would recommend this trip to all that are able. The trail is called “Ride the Hiawatha” and starts just a couple of miles into Montana from Idaho and you can rent all the equipment you need at Lookout Ski area. The trail itself is … (0 comments)
