HELP - My lender is going to send me a 1099 for my short sale! - 10/24/07 11:07 AM
I often get the question... Will I have to pay taxes on the amount the bank writes off on my short sale?
The answer is NOT a simple one, it depends on the situation. Legislation is currently being proposed that will further simplify the issue, but in the mean time, there are cases where you WILL NOT have a tax liability.
#1 - Not ALL lenders actually issue a 1099 to their borrowers.

I so desperately needed to know what a grumixameira was when I had to TYPE the entire word in JUST TO POST A COMMENT on ACTIVE RAIN.
I STILL want to know who developed this labor intensive approach to posting comments!!
I know the "official" reason is to keep bots from putting automated posts on thousands of blogs, but for goodness sake... I am LOGGED IN with my user name and password. Could they make it a little easier?

Did you ever wonder what your would look like as a member of the BUSH family? Did you ever wonder what Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hillary Clinton's offspring would look like?
I FOUND THIS WEBSITE and laughed my KEESTER off when I saw the MORPH of myself and President Bush...
I do think there is a liberal bias on this web site though because there were no pictures of the Clintons to morph.

For a LONG TIME, I have wanted to do a call in, commentary style radio show. I have been listining to talk radio for about 17 years, starting with RUSH LIMBAUGH when I was an Airman stationed at LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE in San Antonio, TX. I was a "Security Police" member back than (The Air Force's version of MP's) and used to have to stand outside for hours directing traffic through the main gate to the base. Does William Shatner make you laugh? Whether it's the cheesy Priceline commercials or an episode of "Boston Legal" there is something about him that I just find hysterical (in a funny... not a middle ages deadly.... way)
It's hard to say there is a "nice thing" about foreclosures... it's a sad business, working with people who are in such a bad place financially and sometimes even personally. That being said, for buyers, there can sometimes be some great deals to be had out there, especially when working with an agent who specializes in such properties.
