relocating to michigan: Moving to Michigan - 11/04/14 02:53 AM
Metro Detroit's economy has gotten better, enough that people are moving to Michigan instead of leaving.    The auto companies are doing well and the Metro Detroit real estate market has been steadily increasing for the past three years.  That is great for many home buyers.  Most home buyers in the area are no longer under water unless they bought at the very top of the market and put no money down.  If they bought with a 100% loan then they may still be underwater.  It has been five years since the meltdown and many people have lowered their loan balances.  The … (0 comments)

relocating to michigan: Metro Detroit home sales part 2 - 04/17/12 11:34 AM
If you are thinking about selling or buying in the Metro Detroit area you might want to know what is happening.  It is a hot sellers market in the desirable suburbs of metro Detroit.  The suburbs that have been the place to live or where everybody talks about are the ones that are hot!  Cities like Plymouth, Northville, Novi, West Bloomfield, Birmingham, Troy, Rochester, Grosse Pointe are just some of the cities where home demand is high.
What has happened is that many home owners can not sell because they owe too much.  So home inventory is limited.  There are more … (2 comments)

If you are moving to Detroit Michigan because of a Ford Motor relocation here are a few tips for you.  As you know most of Ford Motor’s buildings are in the Dearborn Michigan area.
So you want to know what cities are close enough to you.  My past Ford relocation home buyers have bought in Canton, Ann Arbor, Plymouth, Northville, Livonia, Pittsfield Township, West Bloomfield, and even as far away as Novi.

You will have less travel time going towards Ann Arbor on I-94 because the traffic pattern is lighter than traveling I-96 or Southfield freeway.  Use mapquest and put … (0 comments)

relocating to michigan: Michigan move & relocation - school scores - 09/01/11 03:11 PM
When relocation buyers have a Michigan move in their future they are very concerned about school scores when they have children.  They want to have their children go to the best schools possible.  So what makes a better school.  Is it just the scores?  Is it parent participation?
They say West Bloomfield, Birmingham, Grosse Pointe, and Northville schools are some of the best in Southeastern Michigan.  Is it coincidental that those schools are in the highest income areas of Southeastern Michigan?
I say this because a lady I know lives in White Lake and her son went to Waterford schools.  As … (0 comments)

relocating to michigan: I don't do diapers - 01/06/09 12:03 PM
And I don't babysit at your house.  Yep I get asked those questions sometimes.  As a real estate agent sometimes my job is to keep the kids occupied and happy while mom and dad are talking about the house.
I have rocked a baby to sleep, and I even played school this weekend.  I was the student with a bossy teacher! But this weekend was one of the best group of kids I have had.  I got hugs each morning and we went 3 days straight 8 hours a day for a fast paced Michigan relocation buyer.  They had to find … (6 comments)

relocating to michigan: Would you believe that? - 05/12/08 10:51 PM
Buying Metro Detroit real estate story.
Here in Metro Detroit real estate market homes are going tremendously cheaper than they were several years ago.  In fact in many cities in the Metro Detroit area colonials, split levels are going for a little as a $100 a square foot.  So a 2000 square foot home can be had in Canton for as little as $200,000, or a 1000 square foot Redford home for under $90,000.
But we put in an offer on a nice Livonia ranch a few weeks ago listed for $149,900.  I had talked to the other agent beforehand to do a … (0 comments)
