Hidden Valley Resort will present the annual Spring Carnival March 6 - 7, 2010. More than 220 inches of snow this winter have provided awesome snow conditions this March, and the time has come to celebrate the fact that spring is just around the corner! Guests will enjoy a full schedule of games, activities, and entertainment at the third annual Spring Carnival. Spring Carnival kicks off on Saturday morning with the opening of the Hidden Valley boardwalk. The Ski Lodge plaza level will be converted into a boardwalk scene. Telepalooza Telemark Ski Event is the Largest in the Mid-Atlantic for the Eighth Year Running. January 30 and 31st 2010 Seven Springs, PA Telepalooza, a weekend gathering of telemark or "free heel" skiers is being held at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Seven Springs, PA. The event features two days of races, lessons, prizes, food, beverage and fun. This is the eighth year the Appalachian Telemark Association (ATA) has sponsored Telepalooza and it is anticipated to be bigger and better than ever. As resort and second home REALTORS anytime we get to visit another unique community development we are indeed excited to spread the word. The Trailhead Lodge at Wildhorse Meadows in Steamboat Springs, CO is truly an exceptional opportunity! It is the ONLY residential resort community within Steamboat Springs. We spent four jammed packed days checking out the place just for you (OK, it was a real vacation!)! The only mistake we made was flying into the Denver airport INSTEAD of into HAYDEN. This week's frigid weather is setting up an excellent kick off for the 22nd WTAE-TV Winterfest. Beginning Saturday you'll find events and activities for kids of all ages. Spanning nine days (Feb 7 - 15) TV personalities, celebrities and folks young and old get together to enjoy all that old man winter and the snow makers have given us! There is way more to do than just outside activities. Take for example the Craft Shows on the weekends, Salsa Dancing Lessons, Roller skating and Daily activities for the kids! Saturday, Jan 31 and Sunday Feb 1, offer all of you a chance to "free your heels!" Yes we know it's Superbowl weekend and we intend to be in front of the flat screen too!! Registration for Telepalooza starts at 8:00 in the Main Ski Lodge (look for the banner) and there's rental and share gear available for you to try telemark skiing. Plenty of time to give a whole new deminsion to the slopes, trails, and woods and be back in time for kick off!!! Ten years ago after mastering skiing and boarding Wags took up Telemarking. Kicking off 2009 winterfest activities in the Laurel Highlands is KDKA-TV with their sister station Pittsburgh's CW and Hidden Valley. Beginning TODAY you'll find January 23 through February 1, jammed packed with games, contests, activities, food, and fun! KDKA has video coverage posted and Hidden Valley has the line up of events posted on their site. This marks the first of an annual celebration and the weather is going to be AWESOME!! There's also a pasta bar with Broiled Salmon with a Porcini Mushroom Sauce. We've had some neighbors who ski as much as they can point out to us that for December the hours of operation, Monday through Thursday, BEGIN at 11AM. That means no one is on the slopes until 11AM. Knowing that this is a change we wanted to make sure before you make the trip up you go directly to the Seven Springs site for verification! Let's make the best of our time on the mountain!! Build it and they will come. Make it free and they will come in GROVES. Arriving at the parking lot at 8:30 I saw something that you haven’t seen at this resort for a long time, a full parking lot on a Friday morning. Talking to several people unloading their equipment many haven’t been at this resort for several years and it is nice to see them back. Walking with the crowd to the lodge sunshine and temperatures in the 30’s greeted us, a perfect day for snow sports. The upper skier’s lodge has new carpet, fresh paint, new tables and (0 comments)

It's Kick Off weekend already and the snow makers have been working overtime! With the early cold snap you'll find the conditions awesome with 12 to 15 open slopes and trails! So says Wags who was on the slopes last Saturday! Keep in mind that Ski Magazine readers ranked Seven Springs NUMBER ONE for Mid-Atlantic Ski Resorts! A few weeks ago at the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureaus 50th anniversary celebration at Seven Springs we got to meet Bob Nutting (one of the owners). He was insistent that we get together with CEO Eric Mauck and check out all of the new and exciting projects in the works at the resort. Bob also expressed his families desire to be a good neighbor and their intent to encourage visitors to check out businesses and venues in the area. Eric is a ball of fire! For all of you die hard, kick off weekend enthusiasts, be prepared, the rumors are true. We have been able to verify that ALL bars at the resort will have last call at 12:30 and the doors will close at 1 AM. The good news! The Foggy Goggle is dramatically expanding! The entire floor, where all of the picnic tables were will now be ALL FOGGY. There's even a new bar that replaces the food concessions. The picnic tables have been replaced with tables and there will be a real menu! Families that used to camp out on the picnic tables will still (0 comments)

SO the first successful joint venture offering season pass holders more bang for their buck goes to Hidden Valley and Wisp. Yes, we were hoping to see this type of offering with resorts in PA first but hey it's a start! Hidden Valley and Wisp are offering pass discounts that end October 31, 2008. To give you an idea of cost (posted on their sites) HV is offering an adult pass at $419 and Wisp is at $569. Here's how it works.
