Builders are offering crazy incentives! - 11/30/07 05:47 PM
Can you say buyers market? I can't believe the incentives that builders are offering to unload their inventory homes before the end of the fiscal year!  Plasma TV's, thousands of dollars in closings cost assistance, very large discounts off of the orginal list price, and bigger, better agent bonuses and commissions than ever before.  Some builders must be losing money on their homes at the prices that they are "giving them away" for in Charlotte.  Of course, I understand that these deals typically come about at this time of the year, but this seems a little more excessive than in years … (5 comments)

Quaint, Affordable Neighborhood in Huntersville - 11/28/07 01:21 PM
I live in Monteith Place in Huntersville.  My husband and I were the first residents nearly three and a half years ago.  The homes are priced in the low $200,000's which makes it very affordable to get a great quality home in an awesome location!  As a real estate broker for Keller Williams Realty, I have recently sold three homes in Monteith Place that all sold rather quickly, each under the average days on market for the area.  The neighborhood appeals to people for so many reasons aside from the aesthetics of the tree lined streets and quaint exterior construction of the homes.  It … (2 comments)

Charlotte Schools Need Supplies!! - 11/27/07 07:00 PM
As a former teacher, I understand how quickly school supplies can be depleted, especially when not all students start the school year with the appropriate supplies.  In Charlotte, there are many organizations that donate supplies to the schools, including the Charlotte Regional Real Estate Association, but with the number of needy students that seems to be increasing, the donations haven't quite been enough this year.  If you would like to organize a supply collection drive you can contact Sarah Porter at 704-377-1740, ext. 14 or at sarah@classroomcentral.org.  A supply fundraiser would be a great event for a Realtor to organize.  It's … (0 comments)

All Aboard the Charlotte Light Rail!! - 11/27/07 06:49 PM
Were you one of the more than 100,000 passengers to hop aboard the Charlotte light rail over the weekend?  If you were, I hope you enjoyed the free ride.  Starting Monday, you had to pay for your ticket if you took a ride on the rail.  One-way tickets cost $1.30, one-day passes $4, seven-day passes $13, which in my opinion is well worth it if it allows you to bypass some traffic on the interstates.

Holiday Gifts from Realtors - 11/27/07 06:36 AM
Well, it's that time of the year for Realtors to give their little gifts that ensure that people will remember them throughout the upcoming year and also to thank all of those people that have supported their business (clients).  Of course, my calendars are ready to be sent to my sphere and my poinsettias are ready to go to my past clients, but do people actually like getting this stuff?  Since people are going to receive gifts from Realtors, whether they like it or not, what do they want to get?  What have you given or recieved that you truly appreciated … (8 comments)

Starter Home/Investment Property Listed for $99,000 in Charlotte - 11/19/07 09:09 PM
I just listed a great home in Charlotte that offers three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a dining room, kitchen, living room, and laundry room. It is an adorable ranch that has been lovingly maintained. The interior AND exterior of this home was painted in April. It offers a convenient location to Uptown Charlotte, the University area, major interstates, and tons of shopping. There is easy access to public transportation and Tom Hunter Park is nearby. This house qualifies for the HouseCharlotte assistance program for up to $7,500. It would be an ideal investment property or starter home due to the great list price … (1 comments)

Get Noticed by Getting Involved! - 11/16/07 08:32 AM
As a Realtor, you should always be looking for ways to meet more people.  I think a great way to meet those people is to get out into the community and be VISIBLE doing things that you love and that better the place that you live and work in everyday!  This is a great way to expand your sphere of influence while letting people know that you care about the community and that you are a REAL person, not just a Realtor looking to make a buck.  Please be careful about getting involved in things for the wrong reasons!  People aren't stupid … (5 comments)

Air freshener overload!! - 11/15/07 03:35 PM
It worries me that so many people use such strong air fresheners in their homes!  Who is advising them to do so?  Clearly, they are trying to mask the odor of something, or at least that is what you can't help but think.  I completely understand that sometimes there are odors in our homes that aren't exactly pleasant, but those odors need to be eliminated, not covered by a lavender or berry scent.  My suggestion is to put the money into having a thorough cleaning of carpets and upholstery, rather than risking the loss of a sale over a problem that might have only … (7 comments)
