I thought that I'd give a little update of what's happening in the Defiance Ohio real estate market. There are currently 177 homes for sale in Defiance Ohio. The average list price for those homes is $105,185 and the average days on the market is 137. There have been 19 homes sold since January 1st, 2011 at an average sale price of $84,118 and were on the market an average of 133 days. These statistics are as of 2/21/2010. market statistics: Highest Increase of Existing Home Sales in 2 Years!

It was just announced this morning that the sale of existing homes jumped 10.2% last month. It is assumed that most of that had to do with the ending of the first time home buyer's tax credit. However, that credit was extended until next summer plus there was the addition of the tax credit for existing home owners.
I would suggest that if you are considering taking advantage of the tax credits that are available to not wait until the end for a couple of reasons. 1) The more people who wait, the higher demand for the houses toward the … (0 comments)

The election is finally over, the holidays have passed and the new year is in full swing. In addition to all that the new stimulus tax credit for first time homebuyers is here and the weather is showing promise of warmth and sunshine. Because of all of that the market is beginning to thaw out just a little bit here in the Defiance area. The problem is, of course, the job market continues to struggle here. GM has decided to layoff 250 employees. Defiance Metal products just laid off 93 this week and a plant in Continental is shutting down.
