where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale - Confluence - 07/26/19 08:54 AM
- Scottsdale Dining at Confluence -So, technically Confluence is in Carefree, but it is worth inclusion in our "Where to Eat in Scottsdale" posts.
If you have been in the area for a while, Confluence was formerly Cafe Bink, a more casual concept from Chef Kevin Binkley. When he decided to downsize his restaurants and focus on a single location, Cafe Bink was on the downsize list.
Fortunately for diners, it was picked up by one of his chefs and friends from Binkley's, Brandon Gauthier and his wife, Tory. (If you ever dined at Binkley's, you will certainly recognize Tory!)

We stopped in a … (3 comments)

where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale - NCounter - 01/18/19 05:06 PM
- NCounter - Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch -
We recently popped into NCounter for our first visit and have now added it to our places we plan to dine at often.  NCounter's tagline is "Brunch All Day" and on that front, it does not disappoint!
The menu is quite extensive so it took us a couple of minutes to figure out what to order. You can go as healthy or as decadent as you want. Then you simply place your order at the counter and are given a marker to bring to your table.
We chose three very different items to try.
On the decadent … (0 comments)

where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale: Tomaso's When in Rome - 07/25/17 05:59 PM
- Scottsdale Dining at Tomaso's When in Rome -
North Scottsdale has a new dining option that comes with a long history in the Valley. Tomaso's, the Camelback institution for high-end Italian dining that has been in operation since 1977, now has a sister restaurant further north.
Located on Scottsdale Road, just north of Pinnacle Peak, Tomaso's When in Rome opened over the summer. The space itself is open and is decorated with scenes of Rome and columns throughout. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
We started with an order of the Frittura di Calamari (Fried Calamari), which was excellent and we really enjoyed … (0 comments)

- FnB - Old Town Scottsdale Dining -FnB has been somewhere that I have wanted to go for a very long time, but for some reason, never got a chance to. It has won dozens of accolades, including multiple nominations from the James Beard Foundation and continues to be one of Scottsdale's top restaurants.
I finally got my wish and was able to have dinner there a few weeks ago.
Most of the menu is a selection of smaller, shareable plates. There are also a few entrees offered, but we were interested in trying as many of the smaller plates as we could. Each … (0 comments)

- Kitchen West at The Scottsdale Resort in Mc Cormick Ranch -We were down in the Mc Cormick Ranch area this week and were looking for somewhere new to eat. A quick search turned up
We were seated quickly in the lovely, open dining area that overlooks the golf course. Our server was attentive and friendly.
The kitchen is equipped with a kiln oven, so we were encouraged to try the flat bread and are so happy we did. It came out hot and lightly seasoned with herbs. It was accompanied by caramelized onions and a tomato jam. Simply delicious. The same bread is … (2 comments)

- Eddie Merlot's Lounge - North Scottsdale Dining -Last month, I wrote about our first visit to the new Eddie Merlot's restaurant which had opened its first Arizona location in North Scottsdale. Last week, we decided to try out the lounge for dinner this time.
Eddie Merlot's large lounge consists of a bar with lots of additional table seating. We went mid-week around 6:30 and the lounge was bustling with activity and quite full, but we were able to be seated right away. Since it was a nice evening, we elected to sit on the patio.

where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale: The Grayhawk Golf Club - 03/07/16 05:01 AM
- The Grayhawk Golf Club - North Scottsdale Dining -It had been a few years, but a couple of weeks back I went to have lunch at the Grayhawk Golf Club on a gorgeous afternoon. The restaurant at Grayhawk is called the Quill Creek Cafe and is located in the clubhouse. They have ample seating indoors, but the best place to be to take advantage of Scottsdale's incredible weather is the patio overlooking the course.
We were lucky enough to get one of the remaining tables and the views of the water and greens were great. Plus, even though it was quite busy, our server took … (2 comments)

where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale: The Vig - 10/20/15 07:03 AM
- The Vig, A Valley Institution -The Vig has long been talked about as a "must go" place to eat. The original location was in Phoenix, but they have now expanded to four locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale. We had the opportunity to have lunch the other day at the Mc Cormick Ranch location and had a great meal.
The Vig is upscale casual and the service is friendly. The menu has a good variety of items including sandwiches, entrees, gourmet salads and starters.

A few months back, I had visited its sister restaurant, Grassroots Kitchen and Tap, so I knew we were in for a great meal. (In fact, they are located in the same shopping center.)

- Scottsdale Dining at Tryst Cafe -Tryst Cafe was another one of those restaurants that I had heard wonderful things about, but had yet to visit. I finally got the opportunity when I had lunch there a few weeks ago. Tryst Cafe opened in 2010 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as spirits. It was developed around wanting to serve healthy, delicious organic food sourced from as many local vendors as possible. And, since its inception, it has included a large number of gluten-free offerings. Tryst Cafe is located in the Desert Ridge area, making it very accessible. Although the full … (0 comments)

where to eat in scottsdale: Where to Eat in Scottsdale: Beckett's Table - 03/24/15 06:27 AM
- Beckett's Table - Scottsdale Dining Scene - We recently had the opportunity to try Beckett's Table for dinner. It is located just west of Scottsdale on Indian School Road in the Gaslight Square complex. It was a gorgeous night out and it was a tough pick between the lovely patio area or inside, where they had most of the glass walls open.
The menu is varied and pulls from a lot of different cuisines, which makes ordering a lot of fun.
We started with the Deviled Egg of the Day. On that evening, it came with a sriracha sauce and they were a perfect … (4 comments)
