Stacey and Angie My friend Stacy tells it this way, " I met Angie during orientation for college in 1992. She was my room-mate for all four years of college and forever my best friend. We shared many special times. The month before she died we had actually gone to Jamaica together to celebrate my father's 50th birthday. We had debated whether to make the trip because it was very expensive and my husband had just been laid off from his job. So, we are in the final stages of gathering support for the Children's Miracle Network Golf Marathon. It still is not to late for you to step up to the plate and support this effort. It is so easy to say "the children are our future". It is very comfortable in our home if our children are not facing physical and emotional challenges. Children like Max, are not fictitious.

We are coming up on the two year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Much has been written about the government's response. Reports are now coming out declaring billions of dollars of over payment. The people living in the affected areas are still trying to get back on their feet. Many of them are the "working poor". They get up everyday, probably earlier than you or I and get ready for work. In many neighborhoods, shower facilities are shared because every home does not have working plumbing. They go to work and try to make from day to day. They sleep on mattresses with (0 comments)
