Are you involved in your local chamber of commerce or even a neighboring communities chamber of commerce?
I am (and I'm a Title Insurance company) and I've noticed more and more that Real Estate professionals have no interest in being active in chambers of commerce - atleast that ones I've visited and joined. Why is that? This truly puzzles me... Realtors are supposed to be members of the community or atleast want to be ...if anything, for business.

Advertising in general is a hit or miss situation... you never know what your going to get and nothing of course is guaranteed.
My office is located in a thriving small town downtown - Downtown Rochester, Michigan in one of the wealthiest areas within the wealthiest county in the state ...with that in mind - now picture the entire Main Street tore out for new water mains and updates to be installed for 4 months and all of that traffic is re-routed directly by my office all day and night.

The In-House Title Insurance Company has been my biggest competitor since day one in the Title Insurance business ...well, since being in sales in the business I should say.
I hear so many Realtors within Real Estate companies with In-House Title companies complain about service, pricing, and turn times yet still continue to use them so, I ask myself - why? Why do they feel so compelled to use this In-House Title company if they are not meeting expectations for them or their clients? Why?

Here is a great article I found about the rise of the title insurance industry today that I thought I would share.
I know personally here at my company, Franklin Title Agency - we have seen record breaking numbers ending 2011 and beginning 2012 in terms of everything from refinance orders and closings with record low interest rates along with first time home buyers and investors out buying when the prices and values are so low.
