Friends, Family & Clients, The Emancipation Proclamation was signed on January 1, 1863. This word officially reached Texas two and half years later on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth was originally Celebrated in Texas one year later on June 19, 1866. There were about four million slaves in the United States that were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. America is known as the nation that embraced slavery, however at the time of this proclamation nearly four million people were enslaved. Dear Clients & Friends, Dani & I are proud to be Americans. We can't imagine the amount of pain and suffering our fore fathers endured for our freedom. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and fought to keep America Free and to earn the right to stay in our wonderful nation. I was in the lottery and drew number 66 out of 366. Since then we have had an all volunteer military which is most often manned by many that are looking for a better life. The electoral college system was originally set up so all regions of the United States of America would have an equal voice. The idea was to prevent a state or region of the country from dictating to the rest of the nation or imposing their beliefs just because the vast majority in that region were predominately of one mind set. Let's say all of California, New York, Florida & Texas believed that no one should own a home. Our Fellow Americans, It is time to once again celebrate our nations independence with food, drink, family, friends and of course Fireworks Shows. Freedom isn't Free but earned by the blood and sweat of those that came before us. It scares me to think of what the Revolutionary War Soldiers had to endure for us to live in Freedom.
