golf homes: Tankless Water Heater Life Expectancy - 12/01/10 05:03 PM

This is good advice for property owners.  In Europe, where power is prohibitively expensive "hot water on demand" is used extensively.   I am thinking of having this system installed when my water heater needs replacing.

Tankless Water Heater Life Expectancy
Tankless water heaters are becoming more popular. They differ from the traditional hot water tank by providing hot water on demand, which saves a tremendous amount of energy, contrasted to heating and re-heating a bunch of water that may not get used for hours or days.
The typical tankless water heater can provide about two to five gallons of … (3 comments)

golf homes: What makes a window to be considered energy efficient - 11/30/10 04:46 PM

Thanks for this interesting post which I am including in my outside blog as it is of interest to many readers!  The website for the National Fenestration Rating Council can be accessed by clicking here .

OK so you are about to embark on new windows for your home.  How do you know if the windows you are about to purchase or contract work on are truly energy efficient? Best-rated replacement windows should be those that pass NFRC ratings standards, must be Energy Star approved and most of all must be rated highly by consumers. I will provide some … (1 comments)

golf homes: CIPS designees - join new GLOBAL MARKETING Group - 11/27/10 03:20 AM
 New GLOBAL MARKETING GROUP

Many of us CIPS designees also have the TRC - Transnational Referral Certification.  At the recent NAR Convention in New Orleans, TRC was discussed at all of the Global meetings. It was announced that NAR is leaving the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations - ICREA- at the end of this year, and that REALTOR.com will go "global" next year with further details to follow. The TRC designation will no longer be recognized by NAR.
This change prompted me to start a new ActiveRain Group for CIPS, so we can, with the help of … (2 comments)

golf homes: Protect your Small Business from Cyber Scammers - 11/25/10 02:33 AM

The Natinal Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has posted an article online dealing with Cyber Crime, stating that many small businesses are real estate firms and "small businesses are increasingly the targets of sophisticated scam artists taking over their bank accounts."
NAR also points out that banks have done little to increase the security for small business acounts as the banks are not presently liable for losses in the same way as they are with consumer accounts (1978 Electronic Funds Transfer Act).  Apparently this will change with several initiatives in the works.  But for now, you need to protect … (2 comments)

golf homes: ONE WAY OF INCREASING LEVELS OF EDUCATION ...... - 11/23/10 11:37 PM
I read an interesting article this morning in a UK newspaper.
A proposal to raise education standards, middle schools in England are being told to increase the number of pupils gaining good grades (A to C) in five subjects, including English and maths.
All middle schools will be required to ensure that pupils make the necessary improvements.  Schools failing to hit the mark could be turned into independent academies under new leadership.
The Education Secretary states: "If a school has a really tough intake but it is still making tremendous progress, then we won't be classifying it as underperforming. We will recognise … (0 comments)

golf homes: $220 in Savings from Kodak ... Donated to the Wounded Warrior Project!!! - 11/22/10 06:31 AM

Dustin, this is a very worthwhile project which one of the clubs I belong to has supported.  We do not do enough for our wounded warriors as a nation and as individuals.  They give their all at any time for us!

If I saved $220 this year, I would...donate the money to a organization that I feel very strong about, the Wounded Warrior Project. This nonprofit organization was started one night while a group of veterans and brothers were watching the evening news and were moved by hearing first hand stories of wounded service members that were just returning … (0 comments)

I went through the training "the old way" when my condo building bought a defibrillator.  That method required the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
