We broke down and replace our old Dell.  It was ready for pasture.  Well my husband thought the Mac was the thing.  I like it, however nothing plays well with it.  MLS  Paragon will not work on it.  I can't put pictures on my blogs, little squares apear instead.  I am about to lose it.  My kids due virtual school and when they save a file, have the time it doesn't save or you can't open it.  Help need answers, any Mac pro please save me!!! Would it help to buy windows for it?

There is a big learning curve as you are finding out. I have not worked on a Mac in years so I Cant help sorry. If you buy Windows for it then you are defeating the purpose of having a Mac and simply overpaid for a PC.

Yikes! Those were all of my own fears when we got our last laptop. I knew I had some old programs that I LOVE, and don't know how to part with. I'd like to have a Mac, because I do record and edit a lot of videos, and I always Photoshop my photos. We just couldn't afford the change-over, when we calculated the cost of all the software replacement =/  I feel for you. But have you tried calling tech support? Maybe there's a work-around?

Just read Alans comment. He's got that right! My daughter has used Macs and knows about the Safari problems. But we all use Firefox anyway. I came back to tell you to look up Jeff Turner if you're not already subbed to him. I know he uses a Mac, and he's a teckie. The same goes for Brad Andersohn.

Mac is the best.  Easy to do all things that are time eaters.  Paragon is not compatible with MAC.  You can run widows with your mac just for Paragon.  Paragon does not use standard WEB compatible rules.  You will learn to LOVE your MAC and never go back to those horrible PC's again.

We have firefox!  I use it 99% of the time unless it is something simple

Kathy I guess what I was saying was that the main problem with switching to a Mac is that a huge chunk of software is PC only. Its shifting but Microsoft always fought hard to prevent that shift. You might check into Google apps but I really dont know what else to suggest. You might google something like a bloggers guide to using a Mac. I am sure someone covered the tools you need to have.

Home is where the hearth is.

Really the problem is that most website creators don't follow all the web protocols correctly.  PCs are a little more "forgiving" of incorrecty built websites, but Macs are not.... Firefox is the most forgiving, Safari is okay, but runs into too many problems.

there's no reason to use anything other than Firefox, Kathy, even for simple things.

Welcome to the Mac world where they want everything to run perfectly.  They control most of the hardware and software stuff so it almost always works well with one another.  Just don't go outside the Mac world.

Just bought my first Mac yesterday and haven't experienced any problems yet. Top Producer isn't compatible but I knew that going in. So far I love it and will eventually get rid of everything PC.

Once you go MAC, you never go back.
