Drunk Driving is an issues no matter where you live.  When your out for dinner and you have a couple glasses of wine, or a beer or two with your friends after work, you don't think much about it.  The laws have become more strict (as I believe they should) and the consequences even more severe for repeat offenders.  Growing up in a family of alcoholics I chose a different path.  Drunk driving is avoidable, unnecessary and unacceptable!  I know those word are harsh and may strike a cord with many.  But I find it even more unacceptable when an individual representing the law is involved in an accident, killing herself (thank god no one else) because her blood alcohol level was more than 3 times the legal limit.  http://www.dailyherald.com/story.asp?id=314237 .  This was a woman who worked to put intoxicated motorist behind bars.  In my opinion, if you are going to work hard at putting other people behind bars for drinking and driving you should think twice before deciding to get behind the wheel of a car!

I saw the original report from the witnesses and thought that there was the possibility that alcohol was involved.  From the accounts it was apparent that the prosecutor was solely responsible for the accident and according to one witness seemed to speed up as she crossed the centerline.  The comments made me think that she had been doing more than shopping at the mall with a coworker as reported last week.  I am sorry to say that my thoughts were confirmed.  You are correct.  Someone who is so condemning of those that drink and drive should never get behind the wheel when drinking anything.  Also, what happened to cracking down on bars in the area that serve liquor and then let an obviously intoxicated individual amble away in that state?  Was that also just talk?

Not sure why some bars continue to serve when someone is obviously intoxicated!  Then again, she could have been at home drinking!  This is just sad as in all accidents involving alcohol.  Her poor children and husband.  Not to mention the other people injured in this unnecessary position.
