The answer to that question is "Maybe not as much as you think"! As Alabamians, we have grown accustomed to being the brunt of jokes. We often top the lists of the "Worst" and end up at the bottom of the lists of the "Best". However, Birmingham, the largest city in Alabama has much to offer. We have great restaurants...some national award winners, wonderful museums, unique shops, fabulous bar-b-q, acclaimed golf courses, resorts and spas. Although Alabamians are not proud of all of Birmingham's history, it is a city of progress. If you don't believe me just take a look at this NY Times article.
