Ways to make that $8000 credit work harder for you that you may not know

1.  If you have not owned a home in 3 years, you are automatically retitled a "first time home-buyer".  So if you have been living with friends or family or travelling or even homeless....you may qualify for that tax credit----but here is a possible better solution.

2.  An unmarried couple, both "first time home buyers" want to buy a home.  Party 1 qualifies alone.  Party 1 buys the home and an hour later sells half to party 2.  They may both qualify for the full $8000 each or $16000.  What a deal.  Both parties must have the advice of an attorney--call and ask for a referral to an attorney or agent in your area.

My name is Mary Zentz.  I am a Realtor selling homes in Chicago's Northwest suburbs.  When you need a Realtor to make things happen for you....Give me a call.  Mary Zentz  RE/MAX Suburban 847-707-9507 Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and 17 other NW suburbs of Chicago.  "I am always thinking outside the box so you don't have to."

Unmarried couples, friends buying a home, gay couples, same sex couples, partners, lesbians, and gays are good candidates for this option...again advice of an attorney is critical

IRS rules are clear.  If someone receives the $8,000 tax credit and then sell the home within three years, they have to pay the money back.  The IRS is NOT someone you want to owe $8,000.  They have brutal collection tactics!
