HB 146 by Rep. Badon passed the full House of Representatives and now heads to the Senate which would require hands free devices to be used on all cell phones while driving a motor vehicle. An amendment was placed on the legislation that would make this requirement a secondary offense meaning that you would have to be pulled over for another violation before they could fine you for failure to have a hands free device in use. Also SB 249 by Sen. Jackson passed out of a Senate Committee that would increase the penalties for home improvement fraud.
