Well, Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas has held it's own as far as the upper end sales over the past few years. However, the timing of some communities and what they offered was just a bit off.
Example- Hasentree off Highway 98 in Wake Forest, NC. Personally it's one of my favorite places to show homes and admire (I haven't quite reached this level of home personally...yet!). I'm starting to see a trickle of homes come onto the market that sadly, will sell for pennies on the dollar due to the market and economy. These custom builders put their hearts, planning and pocketbooks into some great properties, but the timing just didn't match the big picture.
