I received this email, and thought I would pass it along for any of those who can provide this wonderfully caring person with some help:

===============================================

To All My Dear Friends,

Please take a moment to read through this email.  I know that time is precious, but this is one instance where your time and attention will be of great service to our community.

I am a volunteer for the Antelope Valley Dog and Cat Rescue and we are

out of money as most of the small rescues are.   This draining economy

that we are currently facing has left more and more animals abandoned as people lose their homes to foreclosure.  In an act of desperation, they throw out their family pets in desolate areas of the Antelope Valley where they are left to die.

Our rescue organization, unlike a lot of rescues, is a sanctuary and a no kill safe haven.  If we don't find funding soon, we will have to close our doors forever.  If our doors do close, the fate of the animals we currently have is uncertain.  Our goal, since inception, has always been to expand so we could bring more animals into our sanctuary and to a life filled with love and devotion.

Your kind generosity is desperately needed at this very moment.  I am sending this to everyone on my e-mail contact list and asking them to go to onto our website at www.avdcr.org <http://www.avdcr.org/>  and click on the DONATE NOW button at the bottom right hand side of the page.

Please, donate as much as you can, but we are only asking for a donation of a $1.00.  Then, we kindly ask that you forward this email to everyone on your e-mail contact list and ask them to follow in your footsteps and donate to our cause.  If they then will forward this email on to everyone in their e-mail contact list and so on... who knows how far this email will go or how much we will be able to receive in donations.

We need to keep our doors open, but in order to be able to do this, we need your help.

From the bottom of my heart I can't thank you enough as you know how important this cause is to me.  You know how important my pets are to me and you know that I would do anything to help other animals in need.

Sincerely,

Patrick "John" Kossow

ps. Please continue to read below for additional information on our organization if time permits.  Thank you!

 Who We Are

"A Sanctuary for the Unwanted"

We are a no-kill sanctuary for the unwanted. We have taken in animals that have been abused and abandoned in the desert here in the Antelope Valley where temperatures can rise to over 120 degrees in the summer and well below freezing in the winter. These animals have been dumped here in the desert without food, water, or shelter needed to survive.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group and we need as much help and support from the community as we can get. This entails volunteers and financial assistance. And we would like to thank you in advance for anything you can offer. All donations are tax deductible.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe harbor for all of our animals. To make them feel as loved and as safe as possible. To rehabilitate them through love, trust, devotion, and proper care so they may find a loving home where they can become a loving family member. Some of our animals will never be able to be placed in homes outside our rescue, due to the severe abuse they have endured. Our goal for these animals is to make them feel safe, loved, and as comfortable as possible, while they stay with us for the rest of their natural life.

As a non-profit organization, we are SOLELY dependent upon your donations. We are in need of financial assistance to keep us going. All donations are tax deductible.
