RISING GAS PRICES-GOOD FOR THE HOUSING MARKET!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Nations Princeton-Nassau Inc. d/b/a NATIONS

chambersEveryone talks about the rising cost of gasoline.

Remember...in every negative there is a POSITIVE!

Yesterday a young lady walked into our new office to introduce herself,to say hello, and say she was working at another company in our building. After talking about our companies, conversation turned to the high cost of commuting to and from work with the high cost of gas....she said she commuted 1.5 hours one way....and gas alone was costing her $150 a week[do the math-$600 a month]

AT $600 a month....she could spend that on about $100,000 MORTGAGE....ARE YOU GETTING MY POINT.

MOVE CLOSER TO WORK...SAVE THE GAS MONEY.....PUT THAT MONEY TO WORK BUILDING EQUITY IN YOUR HOME.......IMPROVE YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE....AND HAVE MORE TIME TO ENJOY THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOUR LIFE FULL.

There are many people in this same situation....all they need is good information to make an informed decission.

The young lady that stopped in is considering my advise and we hope to have her relocated-in her new home-in the near future.

The next time someone brings up the negative....help them to see a positive solution.

THE BENEFIT TO ALL MIGHT AMAZE YOU.

You are so smart!  This is a very true point, and I think we may very well see more people trying to move closer to work if we don't see any relief.

Many people in our area are figuring that out by themselves and leaving the suburbs for city living.

I am a Loan Signing Agent in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I find more people are living out of the city and I have to travel farther.  The borrowers really like staying home (and saving gas) to close their loans.

Nice way to quantify the benefit.  It will make it real for potential buyers.
