When you're a tech lover, every day there's something new to discover on the web. For me that usually means keeping close watch on my computer time. If I'm not careful, discovery of a new website or informative blog can easily suck up a couple of hours, so I've learned to bookmark quickly and then turn away. Interestingly when I go back to those bookmarks, I've lost interest in many.
Those are my main sources of advertising and getting buyers. STick to what works for you. I see al ot of people trying to use social media but it's not apart of them and it's fake.
I guess it become obviously very quickly that you cannot do a good job if you spread yourself too thin! I am keeping it to about 4 and then we'll see what is working.
The big 4 are great for mass markets but you need to remeber that you are not running for office and trying to reach a national audience. If you have a specific niche that you work with, you want to hang out where they do. There is a Realtor in Atllanta who specializes in selling homes with garages. He's a garage guy and it would be great for him to be on forums or social networks with woodworkers or car guys or anybody who understands that garages are not just for parking cars.
Consider your market before deciding on which networks to limit yourself too.
Good thought Christopher. In fact, you could probably find/create those niche groups within the big networks.
