Tucson Is A Great Place To Buy a Home. Last night was another reason to buy and own a house in Tucson. I am from New York and I can tell you I never would have had the opportunity to do what I did last night in the big city. We went out at 8:30, looked up at the stars, airplanes and military jets for a little bit and waited. Fifteen minutes later, out pops a bright light going across the sky followed by a more reddish toned light moving in the same arc all across the sky. It was the space station and the space shuttle, one right after the other across the sky. They will be visable again on Thursday night, July 30, 7:54 for the shuttle and 8:02 for the station moving from west south west to south in the sky. It starts out at about 20 degrees over the horizon. You will be able to see it for approx. 3 minutes.
