BioMagic 500 - The Benefits of Use

• BioMagic 500 eliminates the creation of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and it's associated "rotten egg smell".  This offensive odor is the most significant cause of homeowner and business complaints to municipalities concerning the daily operations of wastewater collection and treatment systems.

• By eliminating the creation of H2S gas, BioMagic 500 prevents further damage to the collection system components caused by this corrosive gas.  The majority of wastewater system infrastructure damage is caused by H2S gas and many municipalities invest large portions of their budgets to deal with this damage.  Over the long term, BioMagic 500 will significantly reduce future expenses by preventing future costly damage.

• Hydrogen sulphide gas is very dangerous and poses a health risk to both municipal employees and the public.  Wherever possible it should be avoided and eliminated.  In concentrations as low as 10 parts per million (ppm) H2S gas can cause nausea and headaches. Above 100 ppm, H2S gas can cause permanent loss of smell, eye injury, conjunctivitis, respiratory tract irritation, pulmonary edema and death.

• The oxygen rich environment created by BioMagic 500 allows the naturally occurring healthy bacteria to digest large quantities of bio-solids.  This results in less handling and lower disposal costs.  In addition, healthy active bacteria reduce pathogen production.

Bacteria treated with BioMagic 500 will consume the Fats Oils and Greases (FOG's) that plague wastewater collection systems.  Removal of these FOG's is an ongoing costly overhead to municipalities.  Enzymes merely dissolve the FOG's and move them downstream where they re-coagulate.  For this reason, the State of California has banned the use of enzymes

in restaurant grease traps and wastewater collection systems.  Furthermore, enzyme use is based on an ineffective "shotgun" approach whereas the manufacturer is hoping the enzymes used will trigger the existing bacteria in to breaking down more solids.  Unfortunately, enzymes do not have a positive affect on wastewater collection systems.

• A waste water system free of FOG's operates cleanly and efficiently and without grease continually building up, the system will work better resulting in cost savings.

• Many bio-solids are now being composted and BioMagic 500 enriches the bio-solids by providing the existing bacteria with nutrients and oxygen.  The composting process is greatly accelerated; up to 50 % faster resulting in a completely composted end product enriched with oxygen and much more beneficial to the end user.  Costly air injection systems become unnecessary.  The sale of the compost can be an effective recovery of capital and an efficient method to dispose of the bio-solids. 

• Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels are reduced to near zero creating a much healthier environment down stream of any wastewater plant.  Fish and riparian habitat all reap significant benefits.

• In addition to municipal wastewater collection systems and grease traps, BioMagic products have proven extremely successful in eliminating H2S and methane gasses in garbage dumps and recycling and composting facilities.  In addition to odor control, BioMagic products also reduce bio-solids in home and vacation property septic systems and RV and marine holding tanks.  BioMagic products are effective wherever H2S and methane gasses are produced. 

• It is our understanding that a key component in securing government grants for new or existing waste water collection systems and plants will require the applicants to demonstrate creative solutions towards eliminating greenhouse gases such as hydrogen sulphide and methane.  BioMagic 500 eliminates the creation of both of these green house gases.  Communities using BioMagic 500, and thus eliminating these two greenhouse gases, may have a significant advantage over competing municipalities for government improvement grants.
