Helpful SureClose Hint for today (SureClose Upload)

Being able to upload documents with the SureClose printer driver is a feature that I'm not sure we could operate our business without.  There are a couple of reasons this feature is useful.

•1)      If several documents come to you in a PDF format and you need to file them separately, you can accomplish this by uploading the PDF which will convert it to a TIFF format.  Once the document is a TIFF, you can "chop" it (aaahhh, another blog).   You would also want to use the SureClose upload feature to reformat a PDF to a TIFF if you wanted to be able to annotate the document.  See my blog: Helpful SureClose Hint for Today (Annotating Documents) for more information on this.

•2)      If you have a document in another program, like Microsoft Word or excel, you can easily put this document into your SureClose file by using the upload feature.  Likewise, if you want to send this document to another SureClose user, you can upload it to their SureClose inbox.  This saves you the steps of emailing the document to them.

•3)      If you are pulling disclosures and reports from another website, it can some times be difficult and take a while for big attachments to be emailed.  You can now open those documents on that website, hit the print icon, choose the SureClose upload printer option and the documents will quickly load into your SureClose inbox or file.

•4)      I often meet with clients and have them sign documents on my tablet PC in VREO's Real Estate Dashboard software.  Once the clients have signed the documents, I can click the print icon, pick the SureClose upload option and then "print" the signed documents right to the escrow officer's inbox or file.  This means, I can be signing with the clients in their living room and the escrow office will receive their signed package before I even leave the table!

There are a couple of cool little things about the SureClose upload feature:

•1)      You can code your document placeholders on your templates.  Then, when you upload that actual document you can send it directly to the desired placeholder by entering the code.

•2)      You can also upload the document to a PDF format by just clicking one little box.

•3)      You can upload directly to an assigned file.

•4)      You can rename the document so that if you are uploading several documents at once, you can easily identify each one in your inbox without having to re-open them.

•5)      You can upload documents to another user.

Now, how do you begin to use this feature?  On the home page of SureClose once you have logged in, there is a section covering the SureClose upload printer driver options.  You can click on the correct option for your computer and download the printer driver.  Now, SureClose upload will be an option within your print menu every time you click on a document to print it.  From there, it is pretty simple.

If you have any questions, any one of us at Realt-eTransAct would be happy to help you.  I hope this helps!

This is the first time we have heard of sure close.  We will have to look into it deeper.  Thanks for the informative blog.

Thanks for checking out my blog.  I have been a SureClose user for our business for about 5 years.  I think it is the best transaction management program available.  With all its features, it can be a little tricky to effectively operate.  My goal here is to provide a resource for users of SureClose to help them learn the tricks and the mechanics of the software.

Hi Beth,

So, you can upload to someone else's sureclose file?  Say I have 38 transactions in my file, and I want to upload as you said, one choice is the green flag, but if I use the upload (printer) how do you know it is going to the right file?

Thanks,

kathy

When you upload with the printer option, the first blank to fill in will be user name.  Just add in the user name of the person that you want to send it to and it will land in their inbox.  It is so cool.  If you want to upload something to your escrow officer, you can just put her sureclose user name in that box and the document will print right to her inbox.

I just set up the printer driver for one of our agents.  So, now, when she has a client that wants to write an offer, she can go into her winforms online, type the offer, have her client sign it on her tablet, and then she "prints" it to my operations manager's sureclose inbox.  Now, we are immediately off and running AND NO PAPER!!!

I love the "no paper" but this is starting to look like the impossible dream.

We have 2 offices, one is doing quite well with the paper ordeal, but the other one has doubled their paper.......

Thanks for the update, I now have a good portion of our files on sure Close, and they have even allowed me to have the little green flags :)  Pretty soon I will be able to do more myself, and might graduate to Kindergarten.

I know it isn't easy to roll out on your own.  That is the reason we do what we do.  You can do it on your own, it is possible.  It will just take a bit longer with more "pain and suffering".
