We’ve all received emails saying that they come from someone in a foreign country with a huge chunk of money and all they need is our help to transfer it to the US and we’ll get a percentage just for helping out. The good news is it seems like everyone has finally learned that this is a phishing scheme. Unfortunately the bad guys have figured out another spin. . . they take photos off of the Internet of a house for sale and post it on Craig’s List with the same phony line that they are out of the country but now they need to rent the house. They ask a low monthly rent so, of course, people get excited, but just like “I’ve got millions I need your help transferring” scheme, this one is also bogus.

There is also a new version of the nigerian scam going through Craigslist for rentals. They are supposedly running it from England now!
