Of course, I'm not wanting to encourage people to be unhappy by writing this kind of post. But what I am wanting to do is to point out some habit patterns that can and oftentimes do contribute to a person's unhappiness. And maybe one or more of these is a stumbling block for you? And could it be that's why your heart's so heavy?
13 Steps to Unhappiness (to be rid of):
- Measure your success by someone else's.
- Rehearse your failures over and over again.
- Hang around people who are discontent.
- Set your goals so high not even Superman could reach them.
- See the glass as half full with a hole in the bottom of it.
- Undermine another person's happiness. ("If I'm not happy, no one deserves to be.")
- Never release/forgive those who have hurt you.
- Worry about things that are beyond your control.
- Be mad all the time.
- Wear a frown on your face.
- Turn your back on those in need.
- Be convinced the world owes you a living.
- Raise your voice and yell when you don't get your way.
