Snap Shot Saturday...Rebirth.................

Our Mountains East of us have endured a devastating beetle kill over the past 15 years.  It is pretty sad to see. Today, Darcy and I were up on the Mountain in Brian Head shooting a Virtual Tour.  We decided to stop and take some photos for some Snap Shot Saturday Blogs and take some photographs.  I was encouraged by one stand of trees, you can see the pine trees that the beetles have killed behind the new growth.

There are so many species of beetles, and they come in a diversity of sizes and shapes.  Some play a role in maintaining the health of the ecosystem and some do the opposite, destroy crops and trees.  Its nice to see the regrowth.

It is nice to see regrowth, this is the Chinese Bark Beetle, not indigenous to our area, which isn't real good, there were no enemies to staunch their destruction until it was too late.  Anyway, thanks for stopping and commenting!
