Bank of America

By
Real Estate Agent with Quantum Real Estate, Inc.

I belong to different groups who handle short sales and I keep hearing the frustration of Bank of America Short Sales.  I, too, have a couple in progress and it has been most difficult with followup.  We called so many times it isn't funny, but finally, our sale did get assigned to a negotiator.  Took one month for them to acknowledge the existience of our docs, even though they were faxed to several different departments, per their request every time we called.

I did read today that the government is going to try to put a bonus on short sale workouts.  Also, I read a couple of days ago that Bank America is going to try to streamline their short sale department in the future.

One agent told me that she was told that if she didn't quit calling, that they were going to put her transaction at the bottom of the pile.  I just can't imagine that one.  Because, they won't give us email contact, at least initially.  Last thing in the world we want to do is keep picking up that phone to follow up, but there is no other way around it.

Hoping that they will improve in the future.

I had Bank of America nearly kill a deal due to their poor communication that was just a regular FHA deal!  We switched lenders a week and a half ago but BofA didn't release the FHA cert till yesterday, and now we're dealing with the appraisal they entered (we never received) and we need dealt with.  They are a big lumbering giant that can't do anything efficiently or well as far as I am concerned!
