Review for the Todd Bates Program

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty - Long Beach & Lakewood

Hi fellow agents,

I just want to share my experience with the Todd Bates program.

He went to our office promoting his program and promising 1 on 1's and coaching, but I came to realize that all he was selling were pre-recorded audio files for a 'discounted price' close to $1000.  Even the free 800 # is not free!  They waive the registration fee but you still have to pay the regular monthly fee.  And the program is only good for 1 year, so you don't have access to these files anymore after 1 year.

Within less than a month of trying his program and completely unsatisfied, I contacted him and told him that I am not satisfied with the program and it wasn't what I thought I was purchasing and want a refund.  Nothing in the contract says "NO REFUND".  But he refused to give me a refund.

Ok, so I asked him to refund me half of what I paid for just so it's a win win situation.  And I made this request only on the 3rd week after purchase.  I thought it was more than fair.  Besides, I never got any physical material and everything was online audio files.  So he would still have made money.

Anyway, if you are thinking about getting the Todd Bates program, be sure to ask...

1) REFUND POLICY

2) IN WRITING: WHAT IS INCLUDED ON THE PROGRAM (I doubt there's any 1 on 1 coach you'll see in writing), the support is more like a quick (1line) email response, which I highly doubt he even writes himself.

I'm sure there are others who are happy with the program.  But personally, I think it's a big scam!

SO DON'T GET BURN!  THERE'S OTHER BETTER PROGRAMS OUT THERE.

I HOPE THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR THOSE CONSIDERING THE PROGRAM...

I think the best way to combat guys like Todd Bates is fight fire with fire.  If we let as many people as we can know about our experiences with him, we've done our job to protect others from making the same mistake we did in getting involved with his programs.

File a BBB complaint!!!! It will be routed to the Denver BBB because he is in Lone Tree, CO. Notify the Federal Trade Commission. You will get results with both of these. But, try the BBB first. You should get all of your money back and provide the realities of dealing with Todd to other real estate professionals.

To anyone thinking about ordering from Todd Bates or his team, here was my experience.

I ordered a small product with him containing prewritten emails that could be used to follow up with leads.  The package was to include 6 CD's with various information.  The website promised to mail the package the next day after ordering.  When I didn't receive a notification of shipping, I contacted the company who apologized and said the CD's were shipping that day.  Fast foward 1 whole week... I received a notice that the CD's had shipped from the CD Manufacturing company over a week after I had ordered them.  When I received the CD's, one CD was missing.  I notified the company and was told through email that the missing CD would be shipped to me right away.  While I was waiting on the missing CD, I determine that two of the CDs were duplicates.  This means I was actually missing 2 CDs....  I never received the first replacement CD that the company said they would send.  At this point, I decided to ask for a refund.  The company said I must mail the CDs back but that it would be at my cost... (keep in mind they still haven't replaced this missing CDs).  When I refused to pay for return shipping, they suggest I repackage them and write "return to sender" on the front of the envelope.  This is mail fruad, no?  After much back and forth and weeks later, Todd refunded my money and sent me a nasty email about my professionalism... what?! My professionalism?!

TODD BATES misleading & fraudulent !

I made the mistake of purchasing Todd Bated goefarming program what a mistake for $200.00. He website describe it as a geofarming system to help you increase your listing rate in your farm area. All it was was six CD's, one with 6 recorded webinars talking about varies subjects nothing worth mentioning. The other 5 had postcards and letters for fisbo, expired's and your farm area, nothing worth mentioning again. Not worth $2000.00. It took 2 weeks for the program to arrive and when I opened it it read part 1 of 2. I email them because if you try to call you have to leave a message and if you try to dial 0 for the operator it says, this is not a valid extension. So, I sent an email asking about part 2, I never got a real answer on if there was a part 2 or not. I request a refund, then they sent me an email  which read: I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the product. I am happy to give you full access to our website system (normally $49.00 per month) on the house, AND our listing letter system for free (normally $67.00).  I declined and I asked for my refund it has been two weeks, I left a message today 1/13/11 and received a call back saying the my refund will hit the bank today, which they told me the same thing 1 week ago. Horrible customer service and very misleading description on his website as to what you really received. Stay away!!

I ordered a CD and it came weeks later. When I tried to listen to it it cut off mid-sentence I think about half way through. I tried to get a replacement or even just a download but his response was to get a hold of who ever sent it to me. I ordered it through his site. So I asked him to let me know who I should talk to? He said he has no idea he has 100 affiliates. So basically I'm am SOL. If he can't get something this basic and small right why in the heck would anyone spend anything else especially for a high priced product or service? Adding him to my junk list where this stuff belongs!
