They threw the switch last night from fall to Winter.

Columbus day in the White mountains was simply majestic...foliage was beautiful and many drove over the Kancamagus scenic highway to observe the leaves changing colors.

This morning one day after the fall foliage peak...of leaf peeper season, we woke to something not unexpected but too soon for many people taste. Yes Folks Snow in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

We are expecting 1-3 inches of the white stuff, don't let it be said we can't move on. One day after the traditional three day holiday spent gazing at the leaves ...we turn to ski season.

I think New Hampshire State Motto is on target...Live free or Die, we are ready for anything you throw our way. This rusty box car is parked behind my office, I see it almost everyday and it's a reminder not to be too set in my ways...take things as they come and if you don't like the weather here just wait a few minutes it could be worse.

Ski Season at Loon Mountain in Lincoln New Hampshire starts before Thanksgiving...so the snow was going to come sooner or later.

Wow! We woke up to lots of rain today. It's dark and dreary. Can't wait for that first snowfall, although I know it will get old fast for me.

Kathleen. we are a hardy bunch here I'm playing in a golf tournament today..3 inches of snow or not, we get our recreation when we can and we take our fun seriously.

Here in Lewisburg, WV it is somewhat dreary with rain. The leaves are all falling from the trees, and I am sure we will get snow sooner than later...

Steve - Snow already ?! wow. I have a golf tournement today as well (glad it's not on a snow covered course)

Well Steve if it's possible why don't you keep all the snow up there this winter? I wouldn't mind, really!

Claude...got the call golf called off...and yes we are white covered here, very hard to find a white ball.

Starting to collect on the ground...taken half an hour after the first.

Steve, get ready for a second wave. It just left us last night, but now warmer and drier is on the way.

Steve, We are starting to see a littlewinter here too. It has snowed in the Mountains already, Snowbird recieved 22 inches last weekend and should get some this week. Question, do you see an increase in sales for vacation property during the ski season?

Bill, send the warm stuff my way not ready for the clod quite yet.

Debbie, I find few people really want to move in the winter, but furnished property...that's turn key still sells in the winter.

This is something I am not ready for, not at all. Actual snow in your backyard? Please keep it to yourself...do not share! I haven't gotten around to getting a pumpkin yet!

I wouldn't like as much snow as you get... but I'd love a few inches just for day or two.

Steve - I would love to take your weather in exchange for this dreadful 90 degree humidity!

Steve.. I heard that parts of New Hampshire and Vermont were going to get snow soon. Just didn't think it would happen last night.

Snow all around us but none here yet. I never look forward to winter starting but if you live here it will happen.

Steve, those are some beautiful colors. Today was freezing cold in the morning, and then the sun made it look so much better in the afternoon, but still freezing ... and tomorrow will be colder. Some parts already have some of that white stuff. It's too soon. I'm not ready. :/

Sylvie...If you are not ready in Toronto, who could be ready?
